Terms of service
The agreement between you and us when you use Score This Job. Written to be read, not to be survived.
Last updated 4 September 2026
Who you are agreeing with
Score This Job is operated by Code 418, trading as Aardvark Hosting, a sole proprietorship registered in the Netherlands under KvK 68957157. “We” and “us” mean Code 418. “You” means whoever is using the service.
Using the extension, the website, or the API means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use it.
What the score actually is
This is the most important section here, so it comes first.
The score is a rule-based comparison of two pieces of text. It reads the job posting for stated requirements, checks which of them appear in your resume, weighs required skills more heavily than preferred ones, and adds signals for job title and seniority. It is deterministic: the same posting and the same resume always produce the same number.
It is not a prediction
A high score does not mean you will get an interview. A low score does not mean you will not. Hiring turns on timing, referrals, budget, and the judgement of people we cannot see.
It is not advice
It is not career advice, employment advice, or legal advice, and it is not a recruiter's assessment. Do not make it the only basis for deciding whether to apply for something.
It has known blind spots
The vocabulary it matches against is English and weighted toward software, data and product roles. It will under-score career changers, non-technical roles, and resumes written in other languages.
It reads words, not people
It cannot see experience your resume does not mention. A skill you have but did not write down counts as missing, because to the software it is missing.
We are telling you this plainly because a number about your job prospects invites more confidence than it has earned. Treat it as a fast second opinion on whether a posting is worth an hour of tailoring, which is what it is good at.
Your resume stays yours
You keep every right in your resume and anything else you supply. You give us permission to store it so that we can score postings against it for you, and to do nothing else with it.
Specifically, and bindingly:
- We store your resume encrypted. We also keep the job postings themselves — an employer's public advertisement — so we can tell people when a role has been re-listed for months. We never record who looked at which posting.
- We do not use your content to train any model, ours or anyone else's.
- We do not sell it, rent it, or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not show it to employers, recruiters, or the platforms whose postings you score.
- You can delete it at any moment, and deleting your account deletes every resume with it.
- We ask for your explicit consent before storing a resume at all, because a resume can contain sensitive personal data. Deleting your resumes withdraws it.
The privacy policy sets out what we do keep, which is a short list.
Only upload a resume that is yours, or one you have permission to upload. If you use this on someone else's behalf, that permission is your responsibility.
Accounts
- You need to be at least 16 to have an account.
- Use a real email address you control. It is how you sign in and how we reach you.
- One account per person. Keep access to your email secure, since anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
- You can delete your account at any moment from your account page. It is immediate and cannot be undone.
Fair use
Do not:
- Work around the rate limits or the monthly allowance, including by creating extra accounts.
- Resell scores, or put the API behind your own product, without a partner agreement. These terms do not grant API access.
- Copy the scoring behaviour by bulk-probing it in order to rebuild it elsewhere.
- Upload someone else's resume without their permission.
- Attack the service, or use it to break the terms of the sites whose postings you are reading.
If you do any of this we may suspend or close your account. Where the problem is fixable and not deliberate, we will say what is wrong before we do.
Plans and payment
There is a free plan with a monthly allowance of scores, and a paid plan without one. The current allowance and price are shown in the product before you commit to anything.
No paid plan is being sold yet. When one is, this section governs it and we will say so before charging anyone.
Subscriptions renew until cancelled. Cancel any time from your account and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for. We do not pro-rate a part-used period. If we raise a price, we will tell you at least 30 days beforehand and you can cancel before it applies.
If you are a consumer in the EU: your 14-day withdrawal right
You normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason. Because this is a digital service you get immediately, one thing is worth understanding before you buy:
When you subscribe, you ask us to start straight away and you acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal once we have fully performed — which, for an immediately available service, happens as soon as you can use it. We ask you to confirm both at checkout. If you would rather keep the 14 days, tell us at info@aardvark-hosting.nl and we will hold activation until they pass.
Beyond that, if something is broken or not what we described, write to us. We would rather refund you than argue.
Availability
We aim to keep the service running and will not pretend to a guarantee we cannot back. There is no uptime commitment on the free plan. We may change, pause, or retire features; for anything that materially reduces what a paying subscriber gets, we will give notice and let you cancel.
The extension reads job postings on other companies' websites. Those sites change, and sometimes a posting will not be read correctly, or at all. That is expected rather than exceptional, and it is not a failure of the service under these terms.
What we are responsible for
We are responsible for what the law makes us responsible for. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. If you are a consumer, your mandatory rights under the law where you live are untouched by anything written here.
Within those limits:
- We are not liable for the outcome of any job application, or for a decision you took because of a score.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost earnings or opportunities.
- Our total liability in any 12-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. On the free plan, that is nothing — which is the honest consequence of a free service, and a reason to weigh the score accordingly.
Ending it
You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We may close an account that breaches these terms, or with reasonable notice if we discontinue the service; if you have paid for a period you cannot now use, we refund the unused part.
Deleting your account removes every resume you have on file along with it, immediately.
Changes to these terms
We will email account holders at least 30 days before any change that materially affects your rights or what you pay, rather than quietly editing this page. Continuing to use the service after a change takes effect means you accept it. If you do not, delete your account before then.
Law and disputes
Dutch law applies, and disputes go to the competent court in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim in your own country's courts. EU consumers can also use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.
Before any of that: email info@aardvark-hosting.nl. Almost everything is faster to fix than to litigate.
